Who are you?

Bugs Pumpkin patch

Friends or Freeloaders

For several days now there have been a collection of bugs on the leaves of the sugar pumpkins. I think that they are responsible forĀ  lacy leaves in the pumpkin patch. They seem to have singled out this one spot in the garden to feast. I have no clue who they are or how to convince them to take their summer vacation elsewhere. Do you?

I guess one would have to check their IPM guide to see. Given they are one your pumpkins I would be careful about pesticides. Will Google the bug, see if I can find out who they are and then check Virginia IPM to see what extension recommendations are……..

I think it may be a beneficial bug…an Assassin Bug. This is one you want to have. (if it is really that one)
