State of the Front Yard Carolina Victory Garden

My last post was about the state of the back yard garden. The front yard garden is in much better shape that the back. The large front bed is full of good things that are ready either to bloom or to be picked. In front is a nice long row of Cosmos that are growing nicely. I think that they will add some nice color to the front yard when they bloom. In the middle are the peas-Oregon Pioneer variety. They are absolutely bursting at the seams and will be ready to pick in the next few days. Once the peas are done, I think I will get some more pepper plants and maybe another squash or cucumber to plant in the front beds. They will enjoy the sunshine and heat. The back row is full of sunflowers-Mammoth Gray Stripe variety. They still have a ways to go, but are enjoying the sunshine and rain we have been having lately. I can’t wait to see the big flowers!

In the smaller boxes are the cantaloupes, sweet potatoes and pumpkin accompanied by borage flowers that are not quite ready to bloom. Everything in this area has enjoyed the rain and warm weather. I can’t wait to taste a sample of everything in the front yard!
