The Mammoth Gray Stripe Sunflowers growing in the front, large raised bed are very photogenic. They have given everyone in the neighborhood a lift each day. I love to watch the flowers unfold and the centers are exquisite. I excited to see the seed pods develop. The photo in the bottom row on the left end shows an aging flower. The centers look like chunks of white cotton with a flower on each tip. Sunflower seeds anyone?

I have a feeling the Goldfinches will make short work of those pretty sunflowers. The bunnies ate all my seedlings this year. 😦

Well, if the goldfinches show, perhaps that will keep them out of my tomatoes!
