June 4, 2010

Summer is upon us and this year has been much wetter than any other since we have lived in the Carolinas this time. Everything is lush and we haven’t needed to do much watering which is very nice. Some plants are beginning to produce fruits and others are going to seed quite early. For the first time in three years, I actually have squash on my squash plants.  It’s also looking positive for the pat a pan squash, zucchini and sugar pumpkins as well though I have not found fruit on those plants yet. The last two years they have all gotten attacked by powdery mildew and/or squash vine borers.
